Policy: The clinical and/or medical needs of individuals at times necessitate the use of medications. Prescribing, administering, transporting, storing, and/or disposing of medications by employees and/or contractees will comply with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations, as well as with COA standards. Community Care will under no circumstances allow for the use of psychotropic medications as punishment or for the purpose of discipline. Community Care requires all programs to develop procedures for the prescribing, administering, transporting, storing, and/or disposing of medications when applicable.
