Procedure |
Policy: Community Care policy recognizes its obligation to uphold the welfare and right of confidentiality of all clients and to recognize a responsibility and obligation to the overall health and welfare of children and adults in the communities served. On certain occasions an employee or provider of Community Care may become aware of information concerning the known or possible abuse and/or neglect of a child or an adult. On such occasions, Community Care policy holds its providers accountable to fully comply with the Maine law concerning the mandatory reporting abuse or neglect of a child (22 MRSA 1071 § 4001-4071) and dependent adult (22 MRSA 1071 § 3470-3487). Additionally, it is the policy of Community Care that all employees, contractees, volunteers, and students sign a statement demonstrating they have been made aware of the reporting requirements and that they agree to uphold these requirements.
