Critical Incidents |
Procedure |
Policy: Community Care policy is that a critical incident consists of either a special circumstance or an emergency. Community Care is committed to addressing each critical incident in the most effective and supportive manner possible. Each critical incident involving clients or providers will be immediately addressed in the most appropriate manner to provide the necessary treatment, safety, support, and/or corrective action. Critical Incidents will be reviewed by the appropriate service providers and/or the Health & Safety Committee with a commitment to learning from each incident and to implement plans and actions to help prevent similar incidents in the future. Such actions shall be taken to meet the needs and to protect the interests of: the client/family and/or significant others, Community Care employees or contractees involved in or affected by the incident, and Community Care itself. Quarterly reviews of critical incidents will be conducted as part of an overall review of immediate and ongoing risks.
