Procedure:  .

Community Care shall ensure access to services for clients by at least the following measures.

1)       Barrier free physical locations.

2)       Use of interpreters to ensure access to services in the language of client choice.

3)       Access to an interpreter for the deaf.

4)       Education and training for all providers to ensure that individuals are never refused services solely on the basis of their having a known substance abuse use or abuse disorder in addition to mental illness. This education and training shall minimally include:

i)                     The impact of substance use/abuse of prescription medication.

ii)                   The impact of behavioral patterns generated by substance abuse within the family.

iii)                  Screening for co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse.

iv)                 Determining the need to seek consultation and additional supervision on specific cases.

5)    No clients will be refused access to any one service solely on their refusal to accept any other service.
