Procedure: The interview process for CFSS support workers will include a discussion on the diverse role of the support worker. The scenarios posed to the candidate will be designed to measure the support workers ability to adapt to a variety of situations and flexibility to respond the various needs of children and their families. Training is geared towards enhancing staff professional development will emphasize providing support workers with the tools necessary to practice such a variety of approaches in their delivery of support services to children and their families. Individual/group clinical and administrative supervision will be used as a forum to assist the support worker in their efforts to support and advocate for the family. In an effort to ensure follow through of services to families upon their discharge from CFSS, support workers will call the family within 10 days of discharge to ensure follow through of services and needed supports that were planned upon discharge. The support worker will document a summary of their phone call to the family on the discharge summary prior to disclosing the summary to providers/filing the summary in the client file
