Policy: Community Care supports the use of therapeutic modalities and/or behavior modification interventions that are commonly accepted by the governing boards of psychology, social work, psychiatry, and other mental health practitioner licensing boards. Community Care does not support the use of therapeutic modalities, or treatment techniques/approaches that involve the use of coercive/aversive treatment practices, e.g.. involuntary holding, aversive stimulants, or prolonged isolation. Any use of therapeutics modalities or behavior modification/treatment interventions being considered for use at Community Care must be approved by the Medical Director. Community Care has a procedure for seeking approval for non-traditional interventions that includes seeking Medical Director approval.
