Policy: Community Care recognizes the importance of research to accomplish high standards of practice at all levels of service delivery. There may be times when it will be critical to research practices involving persons and/or families served. It is the policy of Community Care that anytime such research is conducted by, participated in, or permitted by the agency, every effort will be made to ensure the protection of the privacy and rights of all persons involved. Further, it is the policy of Community Care that any decision to involve persons served in research activities must be reviewed by a board of non-interested parties and approved by the Executive Director. The identity of persons served who choose to participate in any research activity will be safeguarded. A client/family may refuse to participate in a research activity without penalty.
