Policy:  It shall be the policy of Community Care to comply with the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, Title 29 code of Federal Regulations 1910.1200, by compiling a hazardous chemicals list, by using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’), by ensuring that containers are labeled, and by providing providers with appropriate training regarding these issues. This program applies to all work operations at or for Community Care where providers may be exposed to hazardous substances under normal working conditions or during an emergency situation. It also shall be the policy of Community Care to provide a working environment that is safer than the minimum standards as set by the state and federal government. Each provider is responsible for observing safety rules and regulations, and for exercising common sense in their work. If any doubt exists about proper or safe methods, providers must ask before they act unless the situation is clearly involving the acute health or safety of a client.
