Temporary Suspension of Rights To Accounting of Disclosures of Protected Health Information |
Policy |
Procedure: All providers who receive a request by an external entity to temporarily suspend an individual's right to receive an accounting of disclosures should contact their Supervisor and the agency Privacy Officer immediately. The Privacy Officer will contact the external agency requesting the suspension and document the required elements. The Privacy Officer will notify the Provider when the Suspension of rights has ended. All written documentation regarding the process will become a part of the client record.
