                            Policy:  It shall be the policy of Community Care to establish a fair and appropriate waiting list for prospective clients needing services.  The waiting list is for prospective consumers/clients who are eligible for services but are unable to receive an immediate intake appointment for requested services because of lack of resource capacity.  Upon referral, the consumer will be told that current services may not be available immediately and Community Care referral personnel will, at that time, attempt to ascertain the urgency of need and provide information on alternative resources for clients who indicate that immediate services are required/requested.  Once placed on the appropriate program waiting list, the program manager or designee will inform prospective clients/consumers of the approximate wait for services.
