Procedure:  When it is necessary to reduce the agency workforce as determined by the Maine Management Team, layoff(s) will be determined by area and position. Within the respective area, agency reverse seniority (within classification) is the primary factor for determination, however, agency documented performance, conduct, education, training and experience will be considered and may supersede seniority. Final approval will be given by the executive director. Notification and appropriate documentation of the layoff will be the responsibility of the human resource department.
